Finland increasing its pool of Basic responders

Another group of EUROWA basic responders were successfully certified during a course held in Helsinki in the beginning of October. With active participants, great weather and experienced trainers from WWF Finland, the only challenge was sticking to the timetable! During the course, participants got a comprehensive introduction to what happens during the first few days of an oiled wildlife response operation, and also learned  practical skills that are necessary during those first crucial days, such as tube feeding a bird for rehydration purposes, and capturing birds in the field. For the capture part, Roboduck is an integral element of the Basic training, and the Finnish roboduck not only raised a lot of attention amongst the general public, but also decided to go for a swim!
