Mission of the organisation
NWO-NIOZ Royal Netherlands Institute for Sea Research is the national oceanographic institute and principally performs and promotes academically excellent multidisciplinary fundamental and frontier applied marine research addressing important scientific and societal questions pertinent to the functioning of oceans and seas.

EUROWA Charter – Not EUROWA Network Member
Involvement in EUROWA
Despite not being a EUROWA Network Member, NIOZ is a project partner of the EUROWA-2 EU Funded project in 2021-2022. NIOZ contributes to the project with their scientific expertise in risk and impact assessments regarding pollution and marine birds as well as sea turtle conservation biology.
